SIBLINK LAUNCH EVENT - SUNDAY 22ND JANUARY
Assalamu alaikum,
Cambridge University Islamic Society is launching an exciting new project and seeking
your involvement!
SibLink is a mentoring scheme being launched this month inshaAllah with the aim of 'Connecting the Cambridge Muslim youth'. With the times we're living in, it's especially hard being a Muslim teenager and through this scheme we hope to support and inspire young Muslims in Cambridge to reach their full potential and fulfil their ambitions. We also seek to strengthen the relationship between University students and the local Muslim community.
In essence SibLink is a buddying scheme whereby members of CU ISoc are paired up with a local Muslim youth aged 10-16 years. In this pairing, the big sib offers to help the little sib in whatever they are struggling with - be it academic support in the form of homework help, to learning Arabic or even simple things like practising football skills with them or spending an afternoon baking. The big sib will inshaAllah serve as a positive role model and supportive figure for the little sib providing encouragement and advice.
If you have a son/daughter/brother/sister/re
lative who you think will benefit from this scheme, please fill in the application form here:
