This is an excellent opportunity for any student to get a taste of what being a muslim student in Cambridge is actually about!
-
Your shadow should, inshahAllah, be the same gender as you & currently reading your subject of interest, so should be able to answer any questions you may have about the course, Cambridge, interviews etc.
-
CUSU, the university's student union will provide indispensable information about the application process.
-
You whole trip is funded by CUSU, the University, and the Colleges – all accommodation and food is free, and travel costs may be reimbursed, on a needs basis.
-
A particular source of apprehension can be the misconception that the Muslim way of life is incompatible with living and studying at Cambridge. Applicants often question whether they will be able to fit in here. By shadowing a student who was once in the same shoes as you are now, you can witness for yourself how concerns such as food (halal dietary requirements), facilites for prayer, socialising, accomodation, the elitism and any other concerns you may have, are dealt with by current students.
-
You can yourself see what Cambridge is like as a town! Plus experience the Islamic Society of Cambridge in all it's diversity.
We understand that Thursday – Saturday is a considerable duration during school term. However, this is an invaluable opportunity to form your own impression of Cambridge and gain knowledge on the application process; so do apply on:
